“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Few More

Here are a few more pictures from Sadie's photoshoot the other day. These make me laugh and catch so much of her sweet personality. I added the last two just for fun, I think the one of her dancing is hilarious and the other shows what big beautiful eyes my girls have.

First couple days in Utah

Here are a couple pictures from Utah. The rest are on my phone and I can't get them to upload.
Emily wasn't happy about this.

Goodbye mullet.

My parents are remodeling their kitchen so they didn't have one while we were there. It was pretty fun camping out of the upstairs. I can't wait to see it when it is finished.

Playing outside. My mom has the most beautiful yard and we spent a lot of time in the grass.

Utah or Bust

Back in May I was debating back and forth about going to Utah and even made plans to fly a friend down to help drive me there in July. Everytime I went online to book her ticket, it just didn't feel right so I canceled our original plans. The pressure of wanting and feeling like I needed to go to Utah wouldn't leave me alone. There was a lot going on that I wanted to be there for so one Sunday morning I text Kiera and said, "I'm going to Utah after church tonight if you want to come. Don't give me too long to think about it or I'll back out again." Kiera and I had already talked about this a week prior and decided we were crazy to drive while she was 7 months pregnant and with four kids. However, I sent the text and at church we decided we wanted to go. Our church ends at 4:30 and we're home around 5:00. Kiera and her kids were at my house at 7:00pm and we took off. About 5 hours into the drive we ran into a horrible storm, hail and all. Thank goodness we made it through without any problems and we stopped at a hotel for the night. We drove the remaining 13 hours the next day and arrived in Utah about 9:00pm May 17th. All things considered the drive went incredibly well. The kids did wonderful and we made great timing. The hardest part of the drive for me was when we got to Utah, I had to drive right past my dad's shop and parents' house to drop Kiera off in SLC but I decided I would drive to Matt's family's house the first night and surprise them first. It was great seeing all of their reactions because none of them knew we were coming. Here are a few pictures from our drive.

All loaded up ready for the drive.

We finally made it to a gas station after several miles of nothing to get some protection from the storm. I wish you could better see this, there is about a foot to two feet of water in the road.

We all crashed at the hotel.

Happy girl!

Stretching out in the car.

Potty break. Yep, Sadie decided to potty train on the drive there and stayed drive the entire 20 hours!!

Swimming Lessons

Tomorrow is Sienna's last swimming lesson. She has gone Monday through Thursday for three weeks and absolutely loved it. Her confidence in the water magically showed up this year and lessons have only improved it. She has always loved swimming but now she kicks and swims around all by herself with her arm floaties. After lessons, I make her practice jumping in and trying to swim without her floaties and she is getting pretty good. I'm glad we signed her up this summer and I am also celebrating that it is over. Chasing Sadie and Drew around got old after three weeks but they had tons of fun together too. We look forward to a summer at the pool and next year Sienna and Sadie will be able to take lessons together.

Sienna at her first lesson.

So excited to swim with one of her closest friends.
These two were hilarious and just go crazy when they see each other.

All waiting for the teacher to come call their class.

Exhausted!

The girls got out of the bath, grabbed their clothes and when I got to the front room, I found Sadie was too tired to get dressed. I am amazed at how fast she fell asleep.

Baby Shumway Coming December 2010

A couple months ago I posted with a very similar title talking about Bryan and Allie expecting a baby. We are now excited to announce the addition of baby #3 to our family in December of this year. Here is a poem that I intended to use to inform our families that we were expecting but when we went in for our ultrasound we received a little surprise of our own. I am 5 weeks farther along than we anticipated and actually out of my first trimester already. Because we were that off on the due date, we couldn't wait any longer to tell our families about our little angel coming at the end of the year. I am now 13 weeks and 3 days along and due December 21, 2010. What a great surprise being more than a month ahead of what I was thinking. We are most excited for the jump in due date because now our baby will only be 3 weeks younger than B&A's baby which is so fun. I am hoping we both get the same 'flavor' but at the same time we're really wanting a boy and I want Allie to get her little girl. We know that any and every baby is a miracle and we are so grateful and blessed for the opportunity we have to be pregnant again. We hope and pray that things work out for our close friends that are having fertility problems and they can also have a baby soon. We also want to thank everyone for your support and love, we couldn't ask for better family or friends. Here is the poem.
.
We just found out,
It's no longer a maybe,
Yes, in January
We're expecting a baby!
.
We went to the doctor
And heard a heart beat,
We saw its waving hands
And its kicking feet.
.
We know schedules are crazy
And there is a wedding to plan,
We want to be there,
And will do all that we can.
.
We are so blessed and grateful
For your support and love,
We can't wait for you to meet our little
Angel from above.
.
We have two girls
And they are pure joy,
But we would love if you all
Started praying for a boy.
.
All joking aside,
It has been hard to wait.
We've wanted to tell you
For 8 weeks straight.
.
Sure love ya lots
And miss you too,
We hope to see you,
Before this baby is due.

Pure Beauty

I am absolutely in love with this picture.
