Palin for VP - I think she brings hope for November

What a surprise when McCain announced his pick for VP, but I personally think it was a great choice. I highly recommend either watching or reading John McCain's introduction as well as her acceptance as the Republican VP pick. The more I learn about her, the more I like her. I can't wait for her debate against Joe Biden and I don't even enjoy politics. This link has a lot of this mornings' events as well as additional information on Sarah Palin. Please also check www.americanstand.blogspot.com because I am sure my sister will be posting additional information and feedback.

More Blessing Day Pictures

Here are some more pictures from Sadie's blessing and our weekend. Matt and I have had so much support since Sadie was born. We have had 6 weeks of family and friends coming and going and we have loved every minute of it. Thanks everyone for making these special moments even better.

Family picture before church.

Papa Dan, Me and Sadie, Uncle Bryan, Matt and Sienna, Grandpa Doug.

Sadie with her Papa.

Uncle Bryan and Sadie.

Uncle Bryan and Sienna. Their relationship is quite comical. Sienna loves Bryan and if you say his name she says, "funny!" but she won't go near him. She loves teasing him and interacting with him but she won't let him hold her.

We were lucky to get Sadie to fit in her car seat with that dress.

No more pictures!!

Sadie with my parents. They were here for about 22 hours this weekend but it was a great 22 hours!

Dan and Bryan were really here for the Cowboys game. This is Matt and Dan getting ready for the fun.

It was a preseason game against the Houston Texans but they said they had a blast.

I think they'll be back for a few more games in the future.

Bedtime story with Papa Dan.

They skipped the story and just went to bed.

Count Your Many Blessings

Matt blessed Sadie today at church. It was such a beautiful blessing and I am so grateful to have had my parents and Matt's dad and brother here to be a part of it. I am also very grateful for our good friends that have been such a fun part of Sienna's life and now Sadie's.
.
Blogger isn't allowing me to download anything right now so I'll update this post later with more pictures. Out of all the pictures, I'm glad this is the one that uploaded. Sadie looked absolutely beautiful today. Thank you Matt for being such an amazing husband and father. I love you.

Splish Splash and They're Taking a Bath

Last night we put Sadie in the tub with Sienna. Sienna didn't have any idea that her little sister was playing right behind her. We told Sienna to turn around and when she saw Sadie she got so excited and yelled, "BABY!" It was so cute and the girls had so much fun together.
.
Sienna helped us rinse Sadie off. Sadie actually loved having water dumped on her.

Both of my girls are such water babies. They love it.

Laughing at us dumping water on her. Sienna loves water and would play in it all day if she could. It doesn't matter if it is drinking water, the sink, the tub, or a pool - she loves to play in it.

The Girls

First- Sadie is already rolling over. This isn't a fluke and she rolled over once. We all saw her roll from her back to her tummy so I rolled her over to her back again and then she proceeded to roll over from her tummy to her back 3 more times in a row. It was hilarious.
.
Finally, the girls arrived. We have had so much fun and I am so sad that they are leaving today. Even though it was a quick trip, we did a lot. It was so neat too because this weekend was "No Sales Tax" weekend in Texas for anything that relates to going back to school. What a perfect time for not having to pay sales tax because the girls are shoppers. Thanks for a good time Girls! I miss you already and you aren't even gone yet. Sienna and Sadie love you and had so much fun with all of you. Come back soon!!!

Can you guess where we are? Of course, The Cheesecake Factory. Next time you go you have to try the brownie sundae cheesecake if you haven't. It was delicious with hot fudge and marshmallow melted over the top. I can't believe I haven't found that one yet. I try to order a different flavor every time or at least taste one that I haven't had before. This time I ordered the white chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake. I was hesitant and didn't know if I would like it because I am not in love with macadamia nuts. It is one of my new favorites and I have tried almost every kind now. The big chunks of white chocolate with caramel drizzled over the top with a blondie brownie was so yummy. Just try it one of these days- you'll love it.

Aunt Allie with Sadie. I am so happy Allie decided to come with the girls instead of the boys even though it would be nice to have company to do something with next week when all the boys ditch me for the Cowboys game and golfing.

Aunt Dana with Sienna at the mall.

Aunt Adri with Sienna at the Dallas Aquarium.

Sunday nap for Sadie. We wore her out.

The girls painted Sienna's toes and she loved it. Later they were taking some fingernail polish off of her hands and she got so sad thinking they were going to take it off of her toes.

Candy necklace. It was nice because it took awhile before Sienna realized that she could eat it and make a mess.

Everyone at the aquarium.

Isn't she precious? She looked so beautiful on Sunday.

All of us girls except for Sienna. She couldn't last one more picture- she was way too tired. Thanks again Andrea for everything. We love our Nana.

Before or After?

This morning a Mary Kay consultant came to the house to give me a makeover. Here are the before and after pictures. She did the makeup a little darker than usual for the picture. Please be honest, what do you think? I am personally fine with before picture but that is the plain Jane in me. Maybe it is just too much to jump into all at once since I am used to only wearing mascara and nothing else. Tonight Matt and I have dinner with his boss again at a really nice steakhouse so I'll keep the makeup on for dinner. I am just not used to this and it is different to look at but it is fun for a day.

Remember this ugly thing?

This cake is my least favorite cake I have ever made. I hated it. Making it wasn't fun and I find it hideous. To refresh your memory, this is a cake of the Brazilian Flag that I made for Matt's co-worker that served his mission in Brazil. So, Thursday Matt called me and said that his same co-worker wanted to order a cake same day and that he wanted another Brazilian Flag for his wife's birthday because she is from Brazil. Matt and I both just started laughing. It was probably not a good idea for me to agree to make a cake the same day because things went crazy. I only had 6 hours to get the cake baked, decorated, and delivered. Seriously, what was I thinking? Well, to make things worse- the first cake I made fell apart and I had to start over. Time is running out on me and I didn't have any supplies to make icing, etc. So, in the middle of everything else going wrong I had to find time to get to the store to buy some powdered sugar and other things to decorate. This would have been 'a piece of cake' a month ago but now I have two kids to run around and Sienna just happened to be sleeping at the time. Okay- long story short with a lot of help from my friend I got it done.
.
This is the first ugly cake.

Here is the second attempt. I think it came out much better but I'm still not in love with it.

Here is the second cake I made this weekend. Our friend Brooklyn had a Curious George birthday party on Saturday that was tons of fun.

Sienna playing with Joci.

Sadie getting ready to go swimming. Don't worry, Sadie didn't get in the pool.

Isn't that a cute face? She really smiles so much. She is laughing at us because we had to speak in church today.

Who Says You Can't Buy Love?

Matt and I took Sadie to the "Mormon Night" at the Ranger's game this weekend with Kiera and James. We left Sienna and the Mathis' two kids with some babysitters and went to enjoy some baseball. It was a ton of fun although the "Mormon Night" part of the evening was a major let down. It is fun getting away without the kids and they won't complain as long as we leave them together. Kiera and I may not know our MLB teams as well as the boys would like us to but they don't know the state capitals as well as we'd like them to. We quizzed each other with random trivia during the game and let's just say the boys were studying sport teams instead of geography in school.
.

I don't know if you can buy love, but it's worth a shot, JK. Here are some goodies that we are sending Matt's little brother on his mission. Kyle is serving in New Zealand and has been out almost a year. He loves Ranch Dressing almost as much as I do and can't get it in New Zealand so we have to send him some every so often. We're also sending him some of his favorite treats. I even managed to find Swedish Fish after the guy at Costco said he had never heard of them.

Sienna has been nothing but sweet to Sadie lately. She hasn't hit her once in the past few days and is constantly giving her kisses. Our favorite thing is when Sienna gets right up in Sadie's face and yells, "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii baby" and then gives her a kiss. It is so funny. Poor Sadie isn't going to understand what personal space feels like. In this picture, Sienna and Audrey were taking turns giving Sadie kisses.
.

Sienna was so happy to have Audrey over to play while Drew had his doctor appointment.

This is just so you can see how big Sadie is getting. Sorry Grandma Andrea but she is going to be huge when you get here. She's as big as a hippo.

Kiera and me 'glistening' at the game. It was so hot and humid but tons of fun.

Elmo Obsession

The girls and I are trying to get out more and more. I enjoy the adventure of trying to balance two kids with me wherever I go. Right now it is quite the adventure because I don't have a double stroller but it's fun. It is also fun to see the looks people give me because I swear everyone thinks I'm crazy and I only have two kids, what are they going to think when we have 6? lol
.
Sadie in her PJ's.

Sienna dumped out the diapers and climbed in to watch Elmo this morning. I think she is getting a little obsessed. Sienna watched way too much TV the past couple weeks with everyone in town but we are back to only Elmo in the morning and then Einsteins in the car. I love and hate that DVD player at the same time.

Sienna loves Sadie more and more every day. Sorry she isn't wearing a shirt, she soaked it right before the pictures.

Big Smiles!

Sadie is growing so fast. She just keeps getting bigger and bigger right before our eyes. I can't believe it has been 3 weeks on Sunday.

The girls laughing together. Okay, Sadie wasn't laughing but Sienna was.

Sadie takes after her sister. She has already rolled over once and she is super good at holding her head up. Slow down, you're only a baby once.
