“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Tahoe for the Night!

Something we love more than anything is camping and traveling as a family. Matt and I decided it has been way too long since we have been camping as a family so we decided to secure a spot in Lake Tahoe for the weekend. People think we are nuts to go through all the hassle and work to camp for only one night, but it is worth it to us. It is true that the same amount of work it takes for one night would sustain you for three or four with very minor additions, but we don't have the time to go for a few nights. We squeeze in what we can when we can. It's important for us to be home before Sunday so we can go to church and have our Sabbath, but that doesn't stop us from having a lot of fun. We haven't done Tahoe as a family before and have wanted to for a long time, so we made it happen! I started the drive so Matt could finish a work call. That was interesting. ha ha. Ava was happy but kept talking/yelling and making so much noise every time Matt tried to un-mute his call and make a comment. It was quite comical and we all laughed about it afterwards.

Tahoe was GORGEOUS! We are definitely going back, even if it is only for one night. We set up our camp, went to the beach, and ate some yummy food. We woke up the next morning, had an amazing breakfast, cleaned up camp, and headed back to the beach for a couple hours before we hit the road home. We were able to enjoy the campfire, the beach, jumping off boulders, and ate some great food. When people comment on how crazy we are, I just think of the awesome memories we are making. The only complaint is that there were hundreds of bees everywhere. They weren't stinging but they were unsettling, especially for a certain nine year old. We ended up eating breakfast in the tent because the bees would swarm our food.

My heart bursts when I look back at these pictures. I am so grateful for the people I have in my life. Specifically Matt and our kids. I am so overwhelmed and grateful for the life God has blessed us with. We truly love being together and enjoy being with our kids. These moments are my very favorite. Pictures of my kids playing and exploring with each other. Watching them be brave and try new things like jumping off boulders. Spending hours laughing and chatting the car. These are the best parts of life for me and it makes all the preparation and cleanup seem so small and insignificant.

Family Prayer

How cute is this? We asked the kids to come kneel down for prayer and Ava joined us today. We all thought it was the sweetest thing.

Pie Face!

Bela is one of Sienna's dear friends from Montair. We are going to miss her so much next year when we change schools. She and Sienna are so similar and make one sweet pair. The kids had fun crafting together and then playing pie face.

Family Pictures

We did family pictures with both sides of our family while we were in Utah. I absolutely love our group picture we got with Matt's family. I feel so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family.

July Equals Summer. Summer Equals Fun!

When we got home from Utah we spent a lot of time at the park, pool, soccer fields, and hanging out around the house. I love summer. I don't want it to end. I love having my kids home everyday with me. They are my people and I am the happiest when I am around them.
