“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Fort and Leotards

I didn't have Owen all day today because Sadie had a fever and we didn't want to get him sick but we had fun for the short time that he was here. I pushed the love seat and couch together facing each other and made the kids a fort. They loved it.

Where's Sadie?

Sadie kept trying to climb off of the couch.

Then she got stuck in the blanket. The girls love playing peek-a-boo.

Isn't Owen darling? He is such an easy kid to watch. In fact, it is more like he comes over to play twice a week. He is such a sweet and happy boy that my girls just adore. We have fun together. He's my little buddy and always snuggles up to me and he naps like a champ.

Sienna even got to take her nap in her fort today and she slept through my friend coming over and showing me pictures from her recent trip to New Zealand.

My mom sent the girls matching leotards and tutus. I'll have pictures of the tutus eventually but aren't these leotards precious? I put them on the girls and Sienna said, "now I need to dance." She had fun posing many times for pictures in her new dress.

This dance is called Smash Your Sister.

Allie, she even remembered "sparkle, sparkle, sparkle." I just couldn't get her to stop watching her show to look at the camera while she was doing it.

Daddy's Big Day

Today is Matt's birthday and the girls have had so much fun getting ready for their daddy's big day. It's been a month full of doing things for daddy because the girls made their Father's Day presents super early and we've been talking about his birthday for awhile now. Sienna loves birthdays and she has especially loved celebrating Matt's because he is very special to her. Happy birthday, babe. We love you so much and have the most fun when you are with us. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
.
Sienna posing in front of daddy's presents. She helped me wrap the presents by adding lots of tape and coloring the white wrapping paper. It turned out really cute. Sadie helped too but by trying to eat the tape and opening the presents.

Getting ready for dad to come home and get his presents. Matt opened his gifts last night because I will be picking him up from work to go to the temple and the girls will be in bed by the time we get home. After the girls and I finished wrapping his presents, Sienna said, "I need to go back to the store and buy dad more presents."

Me: Sienna, why do you love dad?
S: Because, he IS my best friend.
Me: How much do you love daddy?
S: I opened his presents with him.
Me: What do you want to tell daddy?
S: Happy birthday!
Me: What do you want to give daddy?
S: Give him a present. What else mom? Um, a cookie.
Me: Anything else?
S: Uh huh.
Me: What?
S: Um, food. Ice-cream cake.

Sadie sitting and watching the fun.

Sadie clapping after daddy opened his new shoes.

Sienna even had her own version of the happy birthday song for Matt.

Weekend of Fun

I know it is Father's Day and I am sad I don't have any pictures of Matt with his girls in this post. I love my dad, Matt's dad, and most of all Matt but this post is all about the girls from this weekend. We had an amazing weekend as a family. Saturday morning Matt had an Elders Quorum activity that he needed to attend so I took the girls to volleyball with me. (Matt and I play volleyball every Saturday at the church with some friends.) Sadie had the first melt down of her life and only wanted to be with me so I had to keep leaving the game to check on her. Because I wasn't getting much playing time we decided to head home. This actually worked out nicely because the girls and I went home and had such a great morning together. I had the girls color with chalk on the driveway so I could mow the lawn before Matt got home. The girls were so well behaved for me so I got the lawn taken care of without any problems and after I was done I turned on the sprinklers so they could play. When Matt got home we went swimming, put the girls down for their naps, and then went out to dinner with Bryan and Allie. Funny pictures from dinner to come.
.
The girls getting ready to go to lunch with some friends.

I have good news regarding this beautiful little girl. Sienna has always been a very loving and sweet girl but she was going through a sassy phase a couple of weeks ago where she was quite mean to me. She would talk back and say things like, "Mommy, you're mean" or "you're bad." I knew that she really just wanted her daddy but it was starting to get old and hard to listen to over and over again. After a couple of days with her saying these things to me Matt sat her down and talked to her explaining that she needs to be nice to mommy and that she loves mommy. Ever since talking things over with Matt, Sienna has been so sweet to me. She has started to say the same mean things but catches herself mid sentence and changes what she is saying. She will say, "Mommy, YOU'RE not bad." Said boldly but then the end she pauses and slows down her wording. It is really cute to watch. She has been extra loving and continues to tell me how much she loves me and that I am not bad. It is so nice having my baby girl back to being my friend.

Another favorite picture of Sienna taken on Friday.

The girls playing in the sprinkler after mowing the lawn. Sienna kept turning the water down so it was barely coming out. Sadie had a messy diaper when we got home from volleyball so I let her play around in a t-shirt and bloomers without a diaper.

Sienna getting ready to attack the water while Sadie watches with awe.

Washing her hands.

We also put out Matt's Father's Day presents for him while he was gone. My mom has a stone in her yard for all of her grand kids and Sienna loved decorating hers while we were in Utah last month so I thought it would be a fun idea for Matt. Sienna helped Sadie decorate hers too and they had a lot of fun together.

The girls watching the water together. I think this picture is so sweet.

Sadie enjoying a popsicle.

Sienna helping Sadie finish off the last of her popsicle. I think Sienna ate three of them herself.

While the girls were playing the neighbor's cat came to visit.

The girls both love cats but Sadie was especially intrigued. She followed the cat everywhere until it left the yard.

Sadie was relentless and would not stop following the cat.

Coloring with chalk.

We also had time to ride bikes before Matt got home from his activity. This set up on the bike worked out well for both girls. With Sadie pushing Sienna was able to pedal and Sadie had fun walking behind her.

This morning I was trying to keep the girls quiet so Matt could sleep in on his special day. Sadie loves standing up against the windows to look for cats or birds but she is slightly too short so she stands on her tippy toes and gets really upset that she cannot see outside. I decided to open the door and call for a cat and sure enough the same orange cat that is always around came running right over. It sat right outside the window and even climbed up on the window ledge for a few minutes so I pulled the coffee table up so the girls could sit and watch.

Sadie would not stop knocking on the window and shouting, "kitty." It was so cute. That my friends was my wonderful weekend with my girls.

Silly Sadie

I've started watching our friend's little guy Owen every Monday and Friday. It has been a lot of fun and it gives me an excuse to stay home a couple of times a week and stay in my PJs. The girls love Owen and I think he likes them quite a bit too.
.
Owen is only 3 months older than Sadie and he is bigger than Sienna.
.

Sadie and Owen had a lot of one on one time while Sienna was taking her nap.
.

Sadie kept trying to steal Owen's binky. She doesn't even like binkies, she just wanted to tease him.
.
Since she wouldn't leave him alone I gave her one of her own and she gave Owen a big kiss with it.
.
When Sadie was born I thought she was going to a binky girl. Sienna never liked them and after a couple weeks neither did Sadie. She loves to play around with them but never sucks them or uses them how they are intended.

Instead she makes silly faces and chews on all of the edges.

Sadie smashing her face to blow one big intense kiss.

I don't know what she is doing here but it makes me laugh.
.
Sadie helping me fold laundry and playing peek-a-boo with Matt's sock.

Sadie getting frustrated because she can't get her water that she dropped. Little Miss Sadie is changing so much every day. She has been taking more and more steps every day. Yesterday she walked across the dining room/now toy room to the kitchen. It was about 15 steps unassisted. She is also talking more every day too. The words she'll say consistently are "Mama, night-night, Allie, dance, kitty and no." She has said a few other words here and there but I don't remember all of them and some are much easier to understand than others. My favorite though is when she does her baby gibberish, I can't get enough.

My Man

There are a million reasons why I love Matt but the best thing about him is that he is ALL MINE! Matt is the nicest, hardest working, loving and most giving person I know. He is so patient with me and is always willing to hear my side of things without getting upset. I am so in love with my man.
.
PS. He's super hot too!

On the way to church. I forget how many freckles I really have until I look at pictures.

Matt and I had a great weekend full of eating out, swimming and hanging out with our girls. Nothing beats my time with Matt.

He even tolerates me taking a million pictures on our way to church and smiles the whole time. I know it was probably driving him crazy but he's a trooper.

My Sweet Girl has Returned

She'll still have her sassy moments but for the most part my sweet Sienna has returned to me. I just got on the computer to check flights to Utah and as I was sitting against the wall Sienna came up to me and gave me a big kiss. As she kissed me I said, "MUAH" but didn't close my mouth. She waited for me to pucker up again and kissed me over and over. Then she laughed and said, "Oh mom, I love you" as she rolled on the floor next to me. I just asked her if I could have one more kiss and she replied with, "yeah, of course I can do that."

Day With Allie

We spent yesterday with Aunt Allie for her birthday. It was a lot of fun and the girls LOVE their Aunt Allie.
.
The girls had to find something to do while we waited for the storm to calm down so we could go visit Aunt Allie for her birthday. What better way to spend the morning than jumping from the coffee table to the couch?

Sienna is a great jumper. There were a couple of times where she jumped over Sadie but we put a stop to that.

Sienna was having so much fun that she thought she would help Sadie on the table so she could give it a try.

This is a picture from last night. Sienna wanted to show Matt her skills. She is wearing bracelets and to keep them from falling off she walks around with her hands in the air the entire time.

We made Allie a lemon cake and Sienna was so excited to take it to her. Sadie just wanted to eat it.
.
"I'll carry it mommy." It was a little heavy so I let Sienna carry the cool whip instead. As we walked up to Allie's door Sienna yelled, "Allie, we're coming and we brought you a cake!"

The birthday girl with Sienna and Sadie.

The girls helping put candles in the cake.

Blowing out the candles. I'm just lucky Sadie didn't burn herself. She couldn't keep her hands off of the cake.

Sadie was finally victorious in stealing some cake.

Playing around with toys at Allie's house.

Silly face.

While watching a show Sienna casually put her legs up on Allie to get tickled. She loves "soft." It was Allie's birthday and Sienna got spoiled- something is wrong with this picture. Happy birthday Allie. Thank you for letting spend your day with you. We love you so much and look forward to every time we see you. You are so beautiful, talented, giving, hard working, and fun. We hope you had the best day ever!!! PS. WE LOVE YOU!!!!
