“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Catch Up

Last night we had a Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of friends since most of us won't be here on Thursday. It was a lot of fun and the food was fantastic. After dinner we dropped off a lot of leftovers to the Elders. Sienna was hilarious in the car and was so excited to take some food to the boys. "Daddy, let's take the food to the missionaries and then put them to bed." The Eders were going to meet us outside of their apartment but we got to the parking lot before them and Sienna kept saying, "I don't think they're coming. We need to take the food into the missionaries table." We had the missionaries over for dinner Friday night and Sienna was excited to go see them again.
The girls are so anxious for Wednesday because they know it is the day we get to see Nana and everyone else in Mexico. Sienna loves talking about Mexico and all of the fun things we are going to do there. Here are a few pictures before we go.
.
Sister love before a little work party for Matt's team. Matt's team met at a friend's house for a night full of dinner and games. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone away from the office. The girls had so much fun and neither of them acted like their anti-social selves. Sienna was dancing all around Logan's house and Sadie was going to everyone and anyone. It was fun for the team to see them like this because it is rare that the girls interact with them one on one without having to be right next to me or Matt.

Sandy gave the girls this art desk and it is definitely a huge hit. The girls think it is the neatest thing and color all of the time. Sienna loves that it has a light.

Most of the kiddos at Thanksgiving dinner last night. I think we should get together every night for Sunday dinners.

One of the greatest things about Thanksgiving dinner was that Bryan and Allie were with us. It is so wonderful having some family with us and we love B&A. The girls love Uncle Bryan and he is one of the few that they will go to regularly. I love this picture.

Drew and Sadie eating together. Drew didn't initially start sitting next to Sadie but he didn't want to be left out so he moved his plate all by himself and squeezed in between everyone. It was so funny. At first Sadie got upset and yelled, "MINE" but then let him in.

Gym-Spastics!

My girls love going to gymnastics every Monday. I wish Sadie was able to do the classes with Sienna because it is a task to keep her attention away from the different toys. This morning I took M&Ms and they seemed to work pretty well.
.
Sienna climbing on the steps waiting for class to start. There was a male gymnast practicing a routine and warming up and Sienna was in awe. She started spouting off different jumps and moves that he was doing, I was impressed.

Sadie got to wear her leotard too but it was freezing outside so she kept her sweatsuit on over it. She had fun dancing to the music and wanted to jump on the tramps again but did better and sat with mommy most of the time.

Sadie did find her way to the slide before class started though.

Lovely Weekend

We had a lovely weekend, it was perfect. Saturday we ran errands, went to lunch, bought UP and watched it together, and played some games. It doesn't matter what we are doing as long as we are doing it together.

I told Sienna to get close to Matt for the picture and she wrapped her arm around his neck. This picture puts an instant smile on my face every time I see it.

Mexican Makes Mom Happy

This morning and even parts of yesterday have been pretty stressful for me. Things are going well but for some reason I have had anxiety or the dumbest things. This morning I was about to fight some people over at the gym but everything ended peacefully and I was able to cancel my membership without too much fuss. It's a long story why I am canceling after only a couple of weeks but it is also a boring story so I'll spare the details. My membership is still active until Christmas and I intend on continuing to go at 5:30am until it is over. Basically, I didn't think it was worth the money to maintain my body weight since I don't have tons to lose. I do feel like I need to be healthier and work out but I can do that from home. So, instead of being healthy and working out today I decided to take the girls out for lunch. Just the three of us went to get some Mexican food and it was delicious. There is a great Mexican restaurant near by and it feeds kids for free on Mondays and Tuesdays so it was really cheap too.
.
I love food, especially Mexican food so it was a treat to hang out with my girls and get some grub. Lucky for me, my girls love beans and rice too.

The girls were really well behaved and had a good time. Sadie enjoyed feeding herself and at the end grabbed a huge handful of beans. Luckily, I stopped her before she could throw them everywhere.

Love Being Outside

The girls and have have been loving the perfect weather lately. It has been mid 70's and we are taking advantage of the blue skies and spending as much time outside as we can. The girls and I had a picnic at the park with some friends last week and ended up staying for over three hours. We could have stayed even longer but they don't have a restroom and it was starting to get crowded.

Sienna getting ready to go with my chapstick and purse.

Sadie eating her lunch.

Sienna on the big girl swing. She does great on the regular swing but lets go of the chains often and it scares me to pieces.

Drew and Sadie playing around. Drew was following Sadie around trying to give her a hug but she wouldn't allow it.

Playing on the wall. They had fun filling the crevices with bark.

Sienna kept making silly faces at me for the pictures. She is my little sweetheart and we have so much fun together. She is such a little nut that always says the most hilarious things.

Sadie pie went down the slide a dozen times all by herself. We were the only ones at the park but the week before when we went with Matt, other people were staring at Matt like he was the worst dad in the world for letting Sadie climb up the playground alone. After watching her get to the slide and go down without any problem, they just laughed a little to themselves. I think people think she is younger than she is because she is so small. (At her 15 month check up last month she only weighed 18 pounds 14 oz. She's our itty-bitty).

Racing back and forth on the field. I'm glad the girls have fun together because I love our little family/girl outings. We met Matt at the park for his lunch last week too and after playing with daddy we went to the mall and walked around for a couple of hours getting samples and eating pretzels and cookies together.

Future ER Visits

Sadie is my wild child. She climbs onto everything and is always getting into new things. I am terrified that we are going to have many trips to the ER with her. I just keep reminding myself that my niece Kate has never had to visit the ER and she is also one crazy child. There are videos of her jumping off of toys, couches, etc when she was Sadie's age and now at 2 1/2 years old she is a pro biker pedaling as she goes down a hill on a big girl bike with training wheels. I am afraid Sadie isn't too far behind Kate's footsteps. It sure makes things entertaining and fun though. Sadie is still one of the happiest girls around but has started getting very defensive and high maintenance. Her little tantrums are starting too soon after Sienna's stopped. Her vocabulary is getting better too. She is learning new words every day and is getting better at expressing what she wants.
.
Sienna's vocabulary just keeps growing and every day she says something else to me that either melts my heart or makes me laugh hysterically. One of my favorite things is having her work out with me which really turns into the girls wrestling me to the floor. Sienna is constantly throwing in words of encouragement or love. "Mom, I just love you soooo much." It is so easy to get Sienna excited about anything too. Right now, she is most looking forward to our trip to Mexico and freaks out every time we bring it up, she starts talking a million miles a minute and gets all giddy. Sienna has stopped getting so upset so quickly and we can usually talk through anything now. She is very good at expressing her emotions and feelings through words and loves to talk about others' feelings too. Most of the time she is concerned about her stuffed animals or the characters on Madagascar. "Mom, why is Alex so sad? What can we do?" "Mommy, can you take a picture of my puppy? He wants you to take a picture of him too and then he will be so happy with you." I love her imagination and how she includes Sadie in it. Sadie actually goes along with it and understands what Sienna is doing.

This is the face of a girl that is up to no good.

Diaper falling off, Sadie proceeds to climb to the top of her upside down shopping cart. It wasn't very sturdy but she still made her way to the top.

The girls climbing over the couch.

Sadie climbed over and got a little scared because she didn't touch the floor as soon as she expected. She did this exact thing at the pool during the summer. Several times Sadie climbed into the side of the pool by herself but when she realized that the step wasn't beneath her, she just held on and hung there until we got her. It made me so nervous but also relieved to see that she didn't just jump into the water expecting to be okay.
Here is a fun little video of my girls playing this morning. I apologize that the video is sideways. I thought I would be able to rotate it but I cannot figure it out right now. Enjoy!!

More of the Girls

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past few days of the girls.
.
Ready to take on the day! I love this because it shows my girls obsessions with their animals. Sadie's favorite is her duck and Sienna loves all of her kitties and puppies. They have about 20 other stuffed animals from Sandy that they play with regularly and both of them have a FEZ Kitty from grandma that they have to take everywhere too.
.
I just hope that their stuffed animals and imaginary pets keep them happy for a little while longer. I don't want any pets yet. Sienna woke up screaming the other night from a nightmare. Matt went into check on her and she said, "Mommy put my puppy outside and wouldn't let him in." It was sad but I thought it was so sweet that her nightmares were as innocent as wanting a puppy and not anything scary like spiders! Sorry but that reminded me of another story with Sienna. I bought the girls V8 thinking what an easy way to get more vegetables. They refuse to drink it, but I can't really blame them. One morning after me pressuring Sienna to drink it, she replied, "No, I hate it." I told her that hate is a bad word and we don't say it. She said, "you hate spiders, I hate tomato juice." Fair enough! The next morning I tried again to get her to drink some and told her that it would make her big and strong to which she replied, "no, it will make me sick." Needless to say, we all HATE V8 but I have 22 more cans that I am going to have to choke down eventually. Dad, come visit and get this stuff out of our house!

The girls brushing their teeth before bed.

A new hairdo for Sadie but she fights me to the death to do it. Sadie has a mullet and needs a haircut badly but we're going to wait until grandma can do it for us. Until then, I might just have to torture her and put in pig tails.

Sienna's hair is getting so long and so we can do different things with it too. Sadie has so much more hair than Sienna did at her age. As much as I love Sienna's hair getting longer, I will admit that I miss when it was just a little bit shorter and held such a cute curl. It was so easy to make it flip out but now it is getting more difficult to do without making it look like a mess.

These Little Piggies...

I know that I have been a complete slacker when it comes to blogging. I promise that I will be better about updating pictures of the girls and our family. We have been having so much fun and Halloween was such a treat for the girls, they loved it. This year we were going to be the big bad wolf and three little pigs but I kind of dropped the ball so we ended up with two of the cutest little piggies ever. We had a trunk or treat with our ward Friday night and then had friends over for soup, games, and trick or treating Saturday.
.
This little piggy had so much fun strutting her stuff at the trunk or treat.

Sienna borrowed Drew's puppy costume last year and wanted to be a puppy again this year. Every time someone asked her what she was going to be for Halloween she would say, "I don't want to be a piggy, I want to be a puppy." She had so much fun as a pig though.
