Six Years!

Matt and I just celebrated our sixth anniversary and it was the perfect weekend. I decided that for one of our activities I wanted to go golfing. We seriously had so much fun together. After golf we went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream and then home to get the kiddos. Later that night we went out to dinner as a family. I am so fortunate to be married to such an incredible man. I love that after six years, it still feels like we're newlyweds or dating in so many ways. We love spending time with each other and have a lot of fun together. I am so grateful for the family we have built together too. Happy Anniversary, Matt. I love you!

Of course, Tanner. I feel like the camera doesn't do this boy justice. He is the most pleasant and happy baby but I always catch his smiles in an awkward spot.

My Boy

I cannot believe Tanner is already two months old (tomorrow). I haven't taken near enough pictures of him but here are a handful from the past few days. I love my little snuggle bug! He is such a happy baby that loves to laugh and talk. He can roll over from his tummy to his back and does it every so often. He loves taking baths, playing outside, going for walks, hanging out in his backpack, talking and making different sounds, laying on the floor, snuggling and playing with his sisters and of course being held. We love our little buddy so much!!

I love my family!

That's all - I just wanted to say that I am so grateful for my special little family. I have one amazing, hard working, supportive and loving husband and three wonderful children. My kids are such incredible examples to me about how I should be. They are so full of love and patience and are so quick to share and forgive. Even after a rough night (with me) they beg me for extra hugs and kisses before bed time. It is so humbling being their mom and being able to call them mine. I love my family and I am so grateful for their individual qualities and personalities. As I grow up, I want to be more like my kids.

Snow Ball

We got snowed in again one day this week. It wasn't near as bad outside but still plenty cold enough to convince us to stay inside. The girls and I decided to have a ball, a Snow Ball. They were Princess Sienna and Princess Sadie but insisted I called them Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. We had fun doing their hair, makeup and painting their toes. We ate a princess lunch, took a princess nap and danced the day away. Speaking of dancing, Sadie joined Sienna's dance class and LOVES it.

Crew & Tanner

This top picture is one of my favorites. These two boys are just the cutest and sweetest things around. They are both so happy and chill not to mention down right adorable. Crew on the left, Tanner on the right. They're just hanging out watching some Superbowl.

The Difference One Week Makes

The week following the afternoon we spent outside eating popsicles waiting for daddy to come home, we were stuck in the house due to an inch thick of ice on the roads. I couldn't believe that we went from 75 degrees to 90 straight hours below freezing within a few days. It was a great week stuck at home though. Matt was able to miss work two days and go in late a third. We were at home and I didn't even dare go out to get the mail. It was FREEZING!! We had some snow but not much. For the most part it was ice. Freezing rains that froze on contact leaving the surrounding cities a danger zone and basically shut everything down. That was until Saturday! Friday night it actually snowed, and it snowed a good amount. We woke up Saturday to a beautiful winter wonderland and it was quite a bit warmer too. The girls were beyond thrilled that they finally got to go outside and enjoy the snow. (You would have thought it was the end of the world - the grocery stores were PACKED and the aisles had been emptied of their food. Thank goodness for food storage and being prepared.)

Freezing Rain

I'm not joking, this is a picture of our front yard today. Just three days after enjoying mid 70's we are down to 18 degrees and covered in a sheet of ice. I have never heard a storm like this before. Thunder and lightning in January during a snow/sleet storm?! It was so loud and crazy. It sounded like it was raining icicles and shards of glass. Nobody went on the roads today unless they absolutely had to or are crazy. Matt's work was closed, Sienna's dance cancelled, my doctor's office closed and appointment cancelled. I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. In fact, I am far from complaining. Now I am wishing for it to happen all over again tonight so Matt can stay home again. I will say that I feel horrible for anyone trying to fly right now and everyone getting ready for the Superbowl this weekend, what a nightmare.

Tanner was most excited that daddy got to stay home and play.
