“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Baby Shumway November 2010

Matt and I have known for a little while but we couldn't be any more excited to announce the wonderful news of baby Shumway coming in November. It has been such a great blessing in my life to be around Bryan and Allie as they get ready to start their parenthood journey together. I can't help but tear up as I post these pictures because my heart is so full of joy. Congratulations Bryan and Allie, we love you! "We can't wait to meet you, baby cousin!" -Love, Sienna and Sadie
.
We were on our way to a BBQ with Bryan and Allie and I turned around to find the girls holding shirts announcing, "I'm going to be a cousin!" It was hilarious because Sienna kept yelling at me to look and it took me a little bit before I realized what was going on.
.
We can't wait to meet our cousin! Sienna thinks it will be a baby girl cousin. We are so anxious to find out.

Swimsuit Season

The girls and I were going to go swimming this morning for the first time this year but decided it was probably a little too chilly. Instead, I decided to mow the lawn because it was getting out of control and I didn't want Matt to have to worry about it later. The girls were so good as I did the yard and just colored on the porch with chalk. After the yard was done we had fun playing in the water.

Scar

Sienna's stitches are out! We actually got them out last week but I haven't been taking many pictures lately. She'll have a decent scar but we're going to keep it bandaged all summer to minimize it.

Nothing Hurts More

Nothing hurts more than watching your baby in pain. Yesterday, we went to the park with Kiera and the kids. Sienna slipped and fell forward, hitting her head on a step. I saw the fall from about 20 feet back and couldn't tell if she had bumped her head or not so I ran over to pick her up. As soon as I turned her around to hold her, I saw blood dripping to the ground. I immediately looked at her mouth assuming she bit her tongue or smashed her lip. After seeing no fresh blood I looked up to find her forehead gushing. Not knowing how deep her cut was but wanting to stop the bleeding I yanked her shirt off and held it against her head. After getting the bleeding controlled and Sienna calmed down, we headed to instacare where Sienna got three stitches. She screamed the entire time she got the actual stitches but that was more because they strapped her to the table in what was more or less a straight jacket. I wanted to cry with her because she was so upset but I couldn't help but laugh at the things she was yelling. She was more angry than in pain at this point. After her stitches were done, she was nothing but sweet. She thanked the doctor and nurse and walked out to the car happy and laughing. The nurse gave her about 15 stickers to share with Sadie, Audrey, and Drew and that made Sienna's day. On the way out to the car she said, "that doctor was so nice and fixed my head." This happened at the end of the day and Matt had gotten home while we were at the instacare so when we were finished we picked him up and went to the store to get Sienna a treat. She chose a new Barbie Princess movie and with daddy's help Swiss Cake Rolls.
.
Watching your kids get hurt is never fun, it is torture. As sad and hard as it was to watch my baby in pain and watch her struggle as she was tied down, I am so grateful it wasn't any worse. Kiera was very helpful and stayed with me at the instacare watching Sadie in the waiting room so I could be with Sienna. I have heard horror stories about instacares but had a great experience. They were very sweet and worked quickly. Sienna is doing great and didn't have any pain or problems after we got home. She'll have a little scar but who doesn't like having a fun story to tell?

Swim Lessons!

We signed Sienna up for swimming lessons this morning. She doesn't start until June but she is so excited. We drew fish on the calendar to show when she gets to start. It is Monday through Thursday for three weeks and she gets to take them with one of her bestest friends Audrey. I am sad that Sadie doesn't get to do them too but we'll have plenty of opportunities to swim at Sandy's pool and Sienna can teach her new tricks. My girls are little fish and love the water, I think Sienna is going to LOVE swimming lessons.
.
Sienna had to call and tell everyone that she was taking swimming lessons. She kept saying, "I am three so I get to take swimming lessons."
.
Sadie had fun taking pictures of herself with the camera.

My girls in their new swimming suits that they got from grandma back in February. They are excited to be able to finally use them.

My Priceless Princesses

When Grandma and Grandpa Visit...

When Grandma and Grandpa visit we...
.
...dress up as fairies.
.
...go to Cabelas
.
...feed the fish.
.
...get piggy back or shoulder rides whenever we want.
.
...hold hands.
.
...learn to shoot guns.

...get lots of treats.

...go to the zoo.

...feed the birds.

...eat out A LOT.

Our grandma and grandpa are the best. I am so happy that they were here to spend the weekend playing hide n' seek and other silly games with us. They took such good care of us and our parents. We're sad they're gone but had so much fun while they were here. When we fill up our piggy bank with all of our monies, we are going to buy tickets to visit Grandma Anne and Grandpa Doug. We miss them so much already. Love, Sienna and Sadie
