“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.”

Ready for Summer!!

Spring break was uneventful but wonderful. We didn't go anywhere, but we had fun hanging out as a family and enjoying the time together. The kids had a blast filling up water balloons and playing with the teatherball set. I enjoyed having my big girls home with us all week. The countdown for summer has officially started. I cannot wait.

Dr & Visit

Ava had her one year appointment today and basically she is perfect, but we already knew that. She is our tiny little thing full of spunk and joy. After her doctor appointment, we raced down to Santa Clara (about an hour) to catch up with our old neighbor from Texas. Lindsey was 12 when we met and now she is 21. It was so much fun seeing her and catching up a little bit. We wish we could have seen her mom and sister too. They were the best neighbors ever!

Conference Weekend

In addition to Ava's birthday, this weekend was conference. The kids did really well and watched most all of it with us. After one session, these three got the giggles and were being crazy and laughing their heads off. I love my family. I love conference. I love life.  April has always been my favorite month of the year and it seems to only get better and better with time.

Our Team

We try to focus on being a team as a family and love doing things together. I had an extra amount of fun this weekend as we celebrated Ava and also because all the kids got their own mits and we played catch together. I love this growing family of mine and all the silly things they're always up to.

Just Like That, Our Little Aussie is 1

We had talked about throwing Ava an Australian themed birthday party. When it actually got to the day, we kept things very simple and enjoyed the day as a family. There are not words enough to describe the joy this girl brings into our family. Ava is arguably the most loved baby in the world. It warms my heart watching every single one of her siblings doting on her and constantly helping her or playing with her. They all participate in watching her, playing with her, and taking care of her.

Ava is hilarious and fun. She is witty and silly even without using words. She LOVES chocolate and treats, but she also loves most all other foods too. She knows how to get what she wants by "squawking" at us. She has started taking a couple of steps here and there and has a few phrases (this, all done, tickle-tickle, num-num, as well as mama and dadda). She is hands down our worst sleeper but that is all my fault. I love her snuggles and although I have only been nursing her once morning and once before bed, she loves feeding through the night. As of this week, she has started sleeping through the night more regularly and the day before her birthday was her very last feeding from me. I wasn't too worried about stopping, but it kind of just happened.

Ava is the biggest mama's girl. If I am around she wants me almost all the time. However, when daddy or one of her siblings walks into the room after work or school, etc., she gets so excited and crawls to them as quick as she can.

Basically, we are all obsessed with this birthday girl! I think we are all in a bit of shock and denial that a year has already come and gone. We cannot imagine our lives without our baby girl and we have had so much fun celebrating her life today.

Birthday Cake

People have asked if this was Ava's first time having treats and it takes everything in me not to laugh. This baby has the biggest sweet tooth ever and recognizes chocolate chip packages, cookies, and all other kinds of candies and treats. When she sees them, she points and makes all sorts of noises until she gets some. We love this cute little birthday girl and had so much fun celebrating her all day.

Ava's 1 Year Old Pictures

We have a young man in our ward that has gotten into photography and is really good.  Unfortunately, for both of us, Ava fell asleep on the way to her pictures and was a little grump. Between her being a clingy mama's girl and tired, we didn't get her typical smiley self. She is still pretty adorable if you ask me though. My favorite is the picture of her on her tippy toes. I love this girl an unhealthy amount.
