We had talked about throwing Ava an Australian themed birthday party. When it actually got to the day, we kept things very simple and enjoyed the day as a family. There are not words enough to describe the joy this girl brings into our family. Ava is arguably the most loved baby in the world. It warms my heart watching every single one of her siblings doting on her and constantly helping her or playing with her. They all participate in watching her, playing with her, and taking care of her.
Ava is hilarious and fun. She is witty and silly even without using words. She LOVES chocolate and treats, but she also loves most all other foods too. She knows how to get what she wants by "squawking" at us. She has started taking a couple of steps here and there and has a few phrases (this, all done, tickle-tickle, num-num, as well as mama and dadda). She is hands down our worst sleeper but that is all my fault. I love her snuggles and although I have only been nursing her once morning and once before bed, she loves feeding through the night. As of this week, she has started sleeping through the night more regularly and the day before her birthday was her very last feeding from me. I wasn't too worried about stopping, but it kind of just happened.
Ava is the biggest mama's girl. If I am around she wants me almost all the time. However, when daddy or one of her siblings walks into the room after work or school, etc., she gets so excited and crawls to them as quick as she can.
Basically, we are all obsessed with this birthday girl! I think we are all in a bit of shock and denial that a year has already come and gone. We cannot imagine our lives without our baby girl and we have had so much fun celebrating her life today.
