2 Funny Stories

Story #1: The other night Matt and I got the kids to bed and decided to play some games. It was Matt's idea to play Phase 10 which came as a surprise to me because he does not like that game very much. As always we agreed to bet on each round. We agreed that the winner of each hand would get three minutes towards a back rub. If you advanced to the next round without the other person laying down that certain trick, you get six minutes. Then we decided to make a 10 minute bonus for finishing the game first. Matt started off by beating me the first few hands and earned a 12 minute back rub. Then he got stuck on "a run of 7" for quite some time and I started earning a pretty decent back rub for myself. It was hilarious because he was getting so upset. I do feel bad for him because he did not get a "6" or a wild card for about four hands in a row. You can't get a run of any sort without a "6" or a wild card. So, the game ended with me owing Matt a 12 minute back rub and him owing me a 52 minute back rub. This is all bittersweet to me because I love beating Matt at games but now I am pretty positive he will NEVER play Phase 10 again.

Did I forget to mention that he went outside and burned the cards just so that we can't play again? My funny husband.

Story #2: The girls and I had a busy morning. We stopped by to check on "Bwyan's house", went clothes shopping, and then hit the grocery store. By the time we were coming back home from all of our errands it was close to 2 o'clock. I decided to get Sienna some chicken nuggets while we were out so she could eat and I could just put her down for a nap when we got home. I pulled into the garage and was letting Sienna finish her show and eat her chicken while I unloaded the van. When I opened her door to get her out, I noticed that she was having a hard time staying awake to eat. I said, "Sienna, eat your chicken." This briefly woke her up and she started eating again. Four separate times she fell asleep while trying to put the nugget in her mouth. One time, she completely missed her mouth and hit her cheek. I tried to take the chicken away from her because I didn't want her to fall asleep and choke on it, but taking it from her woke her up and she started getting mad at me, "my chicken!" I'm just glad I had the camera in the car so I could get a picture. Now my girls are sleeping and I am taking it easy myself.

4 Months Old and Sitting Up

I can't believe that Sadie is already four months old. She is growing up so fast and changing every day. Her latest adventure is trying to sit up.

She's going to sing us a song while sitting up. She only lasts about 2 seconds before falling over but we have had a few sits that lasted close to 10 seconds.

My Favorite People

I love my girls. They are so much fun. I feel so blessed that Sienna is so good and sweet to Sadie. That is Sienna's personality in general, she is such a sweetheart to everyone but especially to Sadie which means the world to me. They are already such good little buddies. I am also so grateful that Sadie is as happy as she is. She is so easy going and relaxed all of the time, it makes life easy and stress free. They both make me laugh on a daily basis by the things they say (Sienna) and do (both of them).

Camping

A couple weeks ago we went camping with some friends. The weather was perfect for camping. Just warm enough so we didn't freeze but cold enough that there weren't a ton of bugs. Matt and I both love camping but have never been together so this was a lot of fun. The kids did great too. Sienna was in heaven having nothing but dirt to play in and Sadie was as happy as ever.

Sunday Morning

I have a feeling my love for Sundays is going to partially disappear once church starts at 2pm. Oh well, we have been lucky enough to go at 9am for almost two years so I guess it is our turn for afternoon church.

Murder Mystery Dinner Party

Kiera and I thought it would be fun to host a Murder Mystery Dinner Party this year. We put a lot of time, energy, money, and thought into this night with high expecatations even though niether of us really knew what we were doing. I don't think it went how either Kiera or I expected but we had a great time. It was a relaxing night full of friends and laughter. My only regrets are that I wish I could have invited a lot more people.

Trunk or Treat

Halloween was so much fun this year. We were very busy with many parties and activities to attend. Sienna dressed up as a puppy dog this year. Her beautiful big brown puppy eyes and the fact that she is obsessed with dogs made this perfect for her. Sadie was an M&M for about 30 minutes and then we decided to put her in a baseball onesie and call it good. Our first Halloween party was at the church. They did a trunk or treat for all of the kids and Sienna LOVED it. She caught on quickly to how the whole thing worked and she was on a mission to get as many treats as she could. She walked up to every car with her hand stretched out waiting for her candy. She'd quietly say, "trick or treat", grab the candy, and walk to the next car. It was so much fun.

This was Sienna's first treat she got. By the end of the "trunk or treat" Elmo was over flowing. Sienna kept saying, "hebby candy" but wouldn't let anyone help her carry it.
