Early Birthday Party For Sienna

We weren't going to do anything for Sienna's birthday because she's only one...but we had a cake to eat. We had some friends from work come over tonight for cake and ice-cream. It was a lot of fun. Before the party started, Sienna spent a lot of time (literally all day - again!) with Benjamin. These two are so funny and play extremely well together. We are loving every minute with the Davis family.

They are hilarious together. Today they were playing little games and teasing each other. It is funny to see how their minds work. Sienna would push Ben and he would jump out of the way so she'd fall and then they would laugh and chase each other around.

Of course the day before we are getting pictures done, Sienna falls into the corner of the desk and gets a big bruise/scratch down the middle of her forehead.

Maybe they are becoming too good of friends.

Here is a picture of Sienna when I finally decided to get her dressed for the day (at about 4pm). Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Birthday Gramma-Gramma.

Trying to take everything in while the rest of the kids were playing.

Sienna was more interested in attacking the cake then she was blowing out the candle.

" Hmmm, this looks fun?"

She started off slowly, but that didn't last long.

She really didn't eat any of her cake. Instead, she would crumble hand fulls and throw it everywhere. She did however love eating the ice-cream.

She got a quick bath and then we opened presents.

She didn't care to sit still to open her gifts so she took some markers and went to play.

Dancing and showing off her moves for everyone to see.

This was the best. We decided to put all the kids together for a picture before people went home. Ben start crying which triggered Sienna and Kyla (4 months) completely losing it. As for Pierce (3 months) and Preston (2 months), they were just chilling in the corner wondering what was wrong with everyone else.

Handsome boys! Preston (left) and Pierce (right). Pierce is Lauren's baby that has undergone heart surgery but he is doing so well.

This is Jessie. She left before the disasterous picture. Isn't she adorable?

Sienna's Birthday Cake!!!

I have so many plans this week and so I decided to make Sienna's birthday cake today just to make sure I had time. It was a lot harder and more time consuming than I expected but I am proud of my first real cake. I had to free hand a lot of the care-bear because the grooves are hard to see, especially after you put the base coat of icing on. Anyway, I am so happy with myself because I have wanted to do this since I was a little girl and I am finally doing it. I made all the icing from scratch and had to color them, etc. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIENNA!!! I can't believe she is 1 on Friday. Oh, thanks to Matt for being so supportive and uplifting too... I've spent a lot of money on cake decorating tools lately.
.
It's the love-a-lot bear because I love Sienna A LOT!
.

A close up of the face. You can tell I am not the best artist on some of the facial features but I am surprised you can tell what it is.

Another close up for detail. I have so much more respect for Valerie's work because it takes so long and hers are so much more professional and detailed.

I really wanted a picture of Sienna in her new dress from Grandma Anne but she was asleep after church so this is the best we got.

We gave Sienna tator tots and ketchup, she mostly ate the ketchup. It was fun until she threw the plate on the floor and watched it shatter all over the kitchen.

Baking, Park, BYU Game, Etc....

Be prepared for a lot of pictures. THANK YOU JAMES AND KIERA for fixing our computer. Matt and I were so close to buying a new computer but some friends in the ward took care of it and saved us a bunch of money.
.
Okay, there has been a lot going on lately that I am so excited to blog about but I won't get to it all right now. First, I am mostly excited right now because I bought a nice cake decorating kit and I am serious about getting started in this. It is something I have always wanted to do but haven't started. My good friend Lauren is going to get into it with me. We have had so much fun playing in the kitchen and we made our first cake. It is delicious. They'll definitely get better looking as we go on but we are satisfied with it being our first attempt. I am also really excited about our beautiful weather we have been having lately. Lauren and I have taken the kids to the park three times already this week and will probably go again. We are having so much fun.
.
---- and now for the pictures.
.

Last week we went to the BYU vs. TCU basketball game. We all had a great time.

Look at these cute daddies with their baby girls. This is our good friend Brandon with his daughter Kyla.
.

Sienna is walking now which makes the park even that much better. She loves crawling over all of the toys and walking around picking up the wood pieces.

I love this picture of Ben chasing the bubbles. Bubbles are always a huge hit with all the kids at the park.

Sienna is pointing at the bubbles while trying to climb up the steps.

Matt and Sienna as we arrived to the park.

Sienna's favorite toy, the swings. Made even better with bubbles and Benjamin. (Lauren in the background providing the entertainment.)

Ben wouldn't let go of the bubble wands and Sienna loves going down the slide. These two are such good friends. We have literally spent all day every day with the Davis family this week - we LOVE it!

Our first cake. Wow, it was so delicious. We wish we had more time to decorate it but we're happy with how it turned out. We were busy with all three kids, making soup all day, and decorating the cake, so we didn't have tons of time to experiment.

Sorry this is kind of blurry. Lauren and I are planning on making cakes and selling them eventually. We also want to start baking the cakes for the birthdays at work. They buy at least one cake a week for a birthday and that would give us a great opportunity to keep practicing and learning without having the cake around for us to eat.

I love baking. I think I will be working on cakes more right now but these are key lime pies that I made for a party we went to last weekend. The theme was lime and you had to bring a dish that included the secret ingredient. I've never made this recipe before but thanks to Paula Dean it turned out yummy. It was fun to have the meringue on top too.

Once There Was a Snowman

I am borrowing a friend's computer and it keeps turning off on me too so this will be mostly pictures. It snowed a few inches today here in Texas. CRAZY! It was so fun to see the big flakes falling. My friend that grew up here said it is the first time since she was a really little girl that it snowed this much. Of course, the state of Texas has pretty much shut down. Matt was sent home from work, so we played.
.

Sienna loved the snow. She didn't want to go inside. It didn't even seem like she was getting cold.
.
Aren't they adorable?
.
We had to make a snowman.
.

She loved eating the snow. She didn't even care that her hands were red and freezing.

This was our attempt at a sled. I pulled Sienna around on a tupperware lid covered in a blanket. She didn't know the difference and had a blast.
.

She was laughing and saying, "weeeeee" at the same time that she was doing her signature nose crunch.

I am so glad I got snow clothes for Sienna. I never thought I would use them here but we are so happy we got to.

It's kind of blurry but so cute.

Still sledding.

"Weeeeee"

It was so fun having Matt come home early to play.

Sienna has been so fun and cuddly lately. She just loves playing with anyone and everyone, especially mom and dad.

We Have Pictures!

This is going to be super quick because we have to head out the door for home right now.
Matt and Sienna at the Zoo.

Sienna loved finding the animals and pointing at them. After we saw the tiger she would roar at everything.

Sienna looking at the beautiful white tiger.

Still at the zoo.

Feeding the birds. I gave Sienna the stick of bird food and she put it in her mouth. She also tried to pick up the birds. This is devotion from Matt because he hates birds and they were flying all around us.

These monkeys were hilarious. They would go up and down this jungle gym so fast. The big monkey got angry and threw the swing at the other monkey.

This would be my father painting our garage. His second job is working for the ghost-busters.

This is us at my cousin Angie's wedding in Utah. Sienna's beautiful new dress was from Grandma Andrea.

This is the new hairdo. Not too different but I have bangs.

Sienna eating brisket and donuts with Grandma Anne. We had a blast in San Antonio. The Richardsons are so much fun and Sienna loved following Shelby around everywhere. We'll come back as soon as she gets over the fact that Brud stepped on her.

Busy Busy Busy

I am so frustrated that our computer is still broken. It is our fault for not getting a new one or taking it in to be fixed but it is still annoying. We have been up to so much lately and have tons of fun pictures that I can't share because I am on a friend's computer without my camera.
.
Here is a quick update on what we have been up to.
.
We went to Utah and bought a Nissan Quest. Emily and Max joined Sienna and I on our journey home.
.
We went to the zoo which Sienna absolutely LOVED. She pointed and roared at all of the animals.
.
My parents came out to visit when Emily went home.
.
We found out we are having another GIRL! That's right, for all of you that didn't know I am 20 weeks pregnant. Next time you see me you will be surprised you didn't know because I am getting big.
.
My parents drove down to San Antonio with us and that is where we are now. We have been having so much fun lately even though most of us are sick.
.
Sienna has been such a riot this trip and just keeps everyone laughing as she sniffs her nose at them, growls, or dances.
.
My mom cut my hair today. It is still about the same length but I have bangs for first time in 17 years. I'm trying to do something different with my hair and we'll see how it works. I have had straight blond hair my whole life with an occasional perm or cut but not much else. This hair cut isn't that different but it is a start. I want to keep long hair for awhile but maybe in July I'll have my mom give me a short sassy hairdo or something. Right now, I have long bangs that cross over and can barely go behind my ears.
We'll be back in Keller this afternoon and back to everyday stuff. I am so sad to say goodbye to my parents, they are tons of fun. The drive from Utah wasn't bad at all, the babies were great- but it probably isn't a drive I'll make often. :( I wish we were closer. I guess I'll just keep having babies so they'll have to come visit! :)

We Love Utah!

Matt was able to go to Utah again for work but Sienna and I really wanted to go. Flights were way too expensive to justify going with him. We were really bummed but where there is a will there is a way. We had my dad find us a good deal on a Quest (not a minivan- Jodie!) and he did. It was a great deal and had a lot of features that we wanted. So, we bought it and Sienna and I are in Utah. Yeah! I love my family. We are having so much fun and the weather is great. We just wish we could see Matt while we are here and that he didn't have to go back to Texas so soon. Our next post will be our adventure home with Emily and Max. You'll have to wait until then for pictures of the vehicle.
.
"Dad, I'm going with you one way or another!"

Sienna made a lot of friends on the plane. She even convinced this nice lady to let Sienna read her book on her tray table.

She loves facing forward in her new car seat. Thanks Reni for the recommendation, it really was worth the money.

Sienna won't leave my parents' back door. She stands there and yells, "Dah" all day. Every time she wakes up from a nap or walks in the house she starts yelling for the dogs.

This is a picture from the Stars ice-hockey game Matt and I went to a couple weeks ago. We went with another couple from work. We had a great time.
